What should I go for and what to look for?
Discussion
Hi, I am on the look out for a Saab soft top, either a late 900 or an early 9-3, which would be the better buy? My only concerns are, reliability and the more toys the better!
I have two children who live with me and two with (very) ex partner. Whilst my current jeep is perfect (for me) I REALLY do need a seven seater, so after much searching and thinking I decided on a saab drop top!
I am thinking I will drop a foldable 2 seater bench (with belts) into my 4x4 and (after a vic test or whatever) that will solve the problem of seats.
Question for the PH saab 900/9-3 owners, can I fit two car seats into the rear seats? they would only be used by my two young kids (2 yr old son and 6 month old daughter) I realise the boot is going to be smaller due to folding roof, but from the youtube vids I have seen they don't seem too bad? would a double or single pram/buggy fit? if members know a certain brand of pram fit I will buy one to fit as I WILL be getting one bks to it I NEED one!
I REALLY REALLY want to go to Tesco/Morrisons/whatever carpark and park in parent/baby spaces and wait for the numpties to protest in horror at me parking a 2 door in one! let them rant then pull out my daughter in her car seat!
So enough typing, which is the more trouble free toy laden model? I am looking at no more than a bag of sand/shed money.
This is all becuase I told the wife a 4x4 would be good for winter safe for the kids etc etc and would mean I would not need two cars (haha she is so easily fooled) She thinks I am getting rid of the 4x4 and replace it with a saab (yes, ok dear! duh)
Really do love the saab soft tops, ages very well IMHO, stick a dateless plate on it and my non petrolhead neighbour would be amazed! at the fact you can get good decent safe motors for less than 3 months payments his stbox.
I have room for approx 4 maybe 5 cars at a push.. I do love bangernomics!
(lastly! are split bulkheads a no go, keep on walking approach best?)
Thankyou and sorry for the waffle
