I've come across one for sale for the reasonable sum of £1990 and it is on 121k miles. And for a 19 year old I can get insured on it vaguely sensibly!

Car is a 2002 and bright red (woo!)
Just wondering whether this would be a ticking timebomb or a sound buy (depending on history etc).

if its been looked after you shouldnt have any bother as they are pretty bomb proof
i,ve come to a 9-3 after 2 focus ST,s and i love it, comfort and power without the bright orange paint smile

i have a bright yellow Saab aero hot..standard its 205bhp but i got it chipped for 50 pounds and now its got 240bhp..through front wheels. i have left new saab aeros for dead, and tested it against a bmw 335d i loaned for a month and in a straight line it matches. however as soon as you get to a bend you lose as the cars are not good for bends...you wll need to get a strut brace

i drove my car to south of france, 965 miles each way without a problem......then 2 days after returning all 3 engine mounts failed..and gearbox fell out......however good thing about saabs, itonly cost 300quid to sort out.

common isssus is that the Sid dispay unit loses its pixels, i cant see mine propers thly but its not that bad...other issue is the Di cassette can fail..mine did..cost 150 quid. also cambelt..not sure if its a belt or chaim...? but if it makes a noise you should change it...

i think the interior is great..i have electric heated leather seats all working, cd player, sculpted seats front and back..electric sunroof. my car has now done 150k and it cost me one grand. it ought to be shed of the week...the only bad thing about it is the colour, wherever i go..people spot me, i normally overtake all my work colleagues on the way to work without realising until they tell me.

cars with the red DI cassette (top cover) are more reliable than the later cars with black
