Intercooler

I am building a special using an MX5 mill turbo charged by HSK and I about to use a SAAB intercooler with the take off and entry on the same side, however on another forum I have been informed that this type suffers backpressure problems thus not working well.
Well I have been in a few SAAB's and they seem to go well enough.
Is the guy right?

They don't flow that well, and suffer from heat soak, I would look at another option. One of the first and best upgrades I ever made was swapping to a proper crossflow intercooler from a 9-3 aero/viggen.
