Selling a used car isn't very easy at the moment, but selling a Saab seems to be almost impossible at the moment.

Mine's been for sale for over 2 months now. My price is 58% of what I paid for the car 10 months ago. It's just had a major service last week costing £446, all tyres are virtually new, it has 6 months tax and test, and even has a transferable warranty with 6 months left on it.

I've not had a sniff. Not a Nigerian scammer, nor a chav - no "what's your lowest price", not even an oceanographer to be seen.

Went to see a trader about a car with mine as P-Ex and he wouldn't even give a price for mine eek

Don't know if people are waiting for the values to go even lower or what. How low can they go? I certainly can't go much lower as I know I'd struggle to get as good a car as mine for £3k more (unless it was another Saab biggrin )

Noticed a new shape 11 reg 9-5 TiD for sale for £18,995 which must be £9k or so off new price. Went onto Wewillbuyanycaraswe'llgiveyounowtforit.com and they'd pay £12,505 for the same car.

Oh my weeping

I'm assuming the problems over in Trollhättan are doing second hand prices no good..

I'll sell my car for £6.50, a loaf and half a packet of cheese and onion crips (Aldi not Walkers), then 2 days later a flock of Oligarchs will pump billions into Saab and values will soar. moan

That's interesting. Well I'm faced with the decision about my lease car in November. Do I buy it or not?? It'll be 3 years old and obviously the warranty runs out.

It's a 9-3 aero drop top and there seems to be heaps and heaps of expensive looking and sounding bits associated with it. I suppose the price has to be right. They have given me an indicative cost and hinted that there might be a deal to be done.

I'm also concerned about parts supplies as we are having a bit of a ruck about the broken sat-nav in my car that they have agreed to replace under warranty, but there aren't any available it seems!

I'll keep an eye on the market for the meantime I think.

that .com comment made me laugh lots.

I'm also a bit worried about the value of used Saabs. My local Saab dealer's forecourt hasn't had many Saabs on it for the last few months frown

I've given up selling mine. Started at over £8000 and went down to £6550 (08 reg 9-5 TiD Estate), and didn't have any interest at all.

Mine's booked in this afternoon for a remap thumbup

Is there any way to find out how much they are selling for at the big car auctions?

That's where my one will go in November if I don't buy it.

Ive currently got an 05 9-3SS and I'm hoping to replace mine in a couple of years with a shiny 08 TID Aero Estate for about £7k smile

You could phone an auction house and ask, but I'm not sure how much info you'd get. I do know they record the sale price of all the vehicles they move (well the big outfit in Manc do).

Bought my 55 plate 95 Aero estate in July this year for not much at all.

Just seen this thread, I was just browsing and comparing to Maptun figures and decided a 9-5 HOT Aero would be a good idear as the current market values are lower due to the obvious bad financial news from Saab combined with competitive pricing between sellers. Buyers market woohoo

I am however concerned with potential resale value in a few years and parts supplies....

Had my car serviced at a main dealer a couple of weeks ago, and the guy said that they were having issues with 'saab specific parts', the example he gave was a Blue Tooth module for a 9-3, but he said that there were so many 'after market parts' available, that he didn't forsee any issues with keeping cars on the road, and that at present all service items were still available direct from Saab.

I suspect that a future problem may be the availability of body panels.

They finally sourced and replaced my sat-nav on Friday. Last I was told is that they were going to take a unit from the production line as there were no spares.

Lord know what actually happened but it took them weeks and weeks and finally it gets done 4 weeks before the lease runs out!

I paid peanuts for my car being well aware of the current situation. If my car is worth nothing in 3yrs i've done well depreciation wise.

I'd assume it will be worth at least 2k, though.

I popped into a large dealership to look at a 9-5 which I had seen advertised on the net a couple of weeks ago. It was in the workshop and wasn't ready for sale, because I got the impression that they were still waiting for parts.

I'm now down to 44.5% of what I paid for the car one year ago. Have spent over £1500 on it in the last couple of months , and still zero interest. Need to sell so I can buy a barge or something interesting!!

It is £5250 (just reduced it from £5495). It is in the classifieds. Is yours in the classifieds? May well be interested biggrin

My great plan is to buy a barge or something fun - see this thread, and to also get a cheap diesel hack for the commute.
