93 Convertible Aero - Any good?
Discussion
Hi all,
Thinking of getting myself a 93 Aero Conv and was just wondering if anyone can let me have any ownership expeiences....are they reliable, costs, what are they like to live with and drive, would you buy another etc etc.
Ultimatly I am after a 4 seater that is good to drive and has room for little ones in the back; its either this or an older A4 or 3 Series but I am favouring the Saab as the equipment levels are higher and the performance you get for the mpg sacrifice against the A4 & 3 Series appears to be minimal.
Appreciate any comments.

I have an 05 Aero 2.0T with Hirsch upgrade and Hirsch springs, drives lovely.
I also have an 09 180 TTid 9-3 Aero Estate, and given the choice I would drive the rag top any day, except for the 30mpg on the rag top compared to 45mpg on ther estate!
The driving position is lower on the rag top, and I feel that the gear box / clutch is nicer, but I did buy the 180 TTid as a fuel efficient work horse, which it ticks every box for!

Well I hope you lot are trust worthy as I have just bought one. Its an '05 with 30k on the clock, full SSH, grey leather, metallic grey, pretty much all the toys except nav, which I don't really want anyway. Only issue is that the mirrors don't work so I've got to get that looked at.I also have an 09 180 TTid 9-3 Aero Estate, and given the choice I would drive the rag top any day, except for the 30mpg on the rag top compared to 45mpg on ther estate!

Fingers crossed for a few years of reliable Saab motoring!!
Re the mirror's, I am assuming that we are talking electrical folding failure as appossed to the mirror clarity?
I had folding mrrors on a 95 which would fold when you are moving, very handy when you have tight situations with on comming traffic. However, the 93 ragtop folding mirrors old work when stationary / very slow speeds.
If they are both not working it has to be something simple like a fuse or a switch, ie something common to both mirrors.
