Back in the Saab club!
2002 9-5 Aero HOT. Full Saab independent history, one owner 12 month MOT.
And the noisiest alternator I've ever heard. That's getting looked at later this week.
Needed a new battery as well - the RAC man who came to rescue me after it refused to start yesterday said it was kaput. Dealer covering the cost though.
£500 for this magnificent beast. My word it's quick.

Following a good few years break, I'm back to driving a Saab - not quite the classic I was hoping for, but this 2011 Linear convertible is in fantastic condition - 1 owner from new - and ticks all the boxes I need. Really enjoying swanning around in her and looking forward to taking her down to the Vendee soon!

Just finished running mine in as back from Abbott with a forged engine and a garrett turbo now too.. because why not.
That's awesome, if I had the spare funds I'd be on the phone to Abbott right away haha! First things first though, I need to get a stage 1 map from Noobtune and then go from there! Only a 25, Was debating the 28 but Giles (before he retired) suggested that through experience the 25 was better on the autos due to active rev range and where the box changes gears - 28 would be more pub numbers but 25 is nicer to drive daily. (30 would destroy gearboxes).
Still, should be ~400hp which is more than enough in a FWD.

Not sure what that is? Was that one of the new gtx series? I had the 0.64ar gt28rs on mine for a while really nice, just a tad quicker than a hybrid td04 but cost a fair penny to fit, handy thing with that set up was it’s an easy upgrade to the gt30, I only had to change the intake pipe for a 4” inlet and it was a straight swap and remap. Didn’t really get going until 70ish in 3rd though and was too quick in 2nd, so for day to day driving the 28rs was a much nicer set up.

Nice!! Worth registering on UKSaabs if you haven’t yet for some ideas/advice on how to mod these
Just gone ahead and done that! I'm planning a stage 1 tune for the moment, as well as some 30mm spacers to give the car a bit more presence on the road. Looks a bit too skinny at the moment. Was considering some Nankang NS-2R as I struggle for grip sometimes, but with winter just around the corner it seems a bit sketchy. griffin dai said:

Yeah, went from the standard aero turbo to it, GT2560R..Didn’t really get going until 70ish in 3rd though and was too quick in 2nd, so for day to day driving the 28rs was a much nicer set up.
It's nice how its spooled at about 2500, so it's usable in day to day/in gear without having to have the box in manual select mode/kick down a couple gears. I keep debating whether to put a 28 on or not.
I'm still on standard injectors (however running a 3.5 FPR), so injectors are the next step.
I have had this for nearly 4 years.
Bought as a fast shed daily for £1000, hoped it would last a couple of years. Did clutch, sump drop, breather and stage 1 in first year. Since then I have done almost nothing apart from an annual oil change. Brilliant reliable thing, hilariously rapid (as most on here would know), I wondered if a cheap fast barge would be problematic but am still trying to find the catch!
I actually want an EV so it may be for sale soon, but keep getting cold feet about parting with it. I suppose it will blow up one day and then I'll move on, but will enjoy until then.
