TVRCC NL organisers of this successful event are always striving to improve it, they have asked this question: -

Which hotel/venue/town do you prefer, would either cause you to reconsider coming next year?

Give a percentage if you want to to show the strength of your feelings and also give reasons please.

Hi Russ,

Track.
I don't go out on the track but from a spectators view it seemed a lot smoother than the passed couple of years.

Hotel.
Expensive. Rooms where small.

If we go next year and it's at the Stiemheide we will be staying at Heerlen.

A bit off-topic but I would have come to the Continental if either the track event were on Saturday rather than Friday (it wan't really possible for me to take the day off) or a 'real' programme was made for Saturday. Sorry, don't do golf even though I drive a Chimaera.wink

No input on hotels as I live close enough to Zolder not to need one.

100% Heerlen.

The Steimerheide looked good and the food was good (if you could get it), but the Van der Valk at Heerlen was much better for the social side and the fact that the cars were all together right outside the hotel. Also, as Linda says, the rooms at the Steimerheide were small and the plumbing was a bit dodgy. Superficially stylish, but really a Golf club playing at being a hotel.

The track day was great, better than the previous couple of years.

Back to Heerlen for 2009, please.

Heerlen at least has real doors to the bathrooms.

We liked the agenda for the trackday. It seemed to run much smoother than in the past.

When it comes to the hotel it has to be Heerlen for us too - I feel we missed speaking to a lot of people and also the organisers - there are many more opportunities to socialise both on the terrace and in the car park at Heerlen and the staff there are much more relaxed when accommodating us with food & drink (at any time of day or night).

Also - please bring back the treasure hunt.

Great to see everyone again

As a non-Golfer, Genk was a failure I'm afraid for me. It spoiled what should have been a good Zolder.

Track was better than normal- it flowed, but I would like to see more discipline on Track - could we have a breifing session perhaps?

One more point (sounds like I'm moaning but I'm not, honest!), IMHO, the introduction to Zolder has become far too fast for beginners and should be slowed down so that newbies to Zolder and track can get the benefit of an intro.

I'm also with the general consensus. I thought that the hotel, although nice enough, didn't compare well to what have been used to at Heerlen and the time saving by staying nearer the circuit was minimal. Also the surrounding area didn't seem to offer as many good places to visit, although we only went into Genk which was a disappointment! There are some nice hotels near Spa!!
Best regards to all, Tony

This years continental meeting has been great again! Nice people, great cars, lots of drinks and ofcourse great fun at the track. From an organizational point of view, the trackday went very smoothly and fortunately without any major damage.

It is always difficult to change a winning format and I believe that your comments will be very important input for our evaluation meeting. Thanks for giving honest feedback and please keep posting your thoughts and recommendations.

Cheers,
Bernard

I preferred the Heerlen location. Nice to see the cars from the balcony.

Thanks to Dutch TVRCC for organising the event and to Tony for organising the ferry, and to all of the Aberdeen contingent for their good company.

Heerlen for me too.

The layout of the car park and balcony are winners, and promote more social interaction.

Also from a food view point, Heerlen is a winner.

Lastly... the toliet doors!

Just like to say to the organisers it was another great event, and as mentioned above the TD did move along smothly without delays.

Dad & I share many of the same thoughts about the new accommodation this year. Think it was good that you tried a different venue. You don't know unless you try these things.

It was good that they laid on the beer tent on our arrival, just a damn shame it rained. Staff seemed very enthusiastic at the time, although hit troubles when it came to eating in the evening.

One comment I would like to add one comment regards to the Trackday. It was said by someone that something’s weren't explained fully on some of the activities like the fastest lap. This person was at the end of the queue waiting to go out and the marshal was instructed to let them out without speaking to him. Maybe for next year issuing an extra car sticker to indicate first timers to the event, then Marshals know who to spend a bit more time explaining things.

regards
Andy

Hi,

I agree with Roy C, the track day was good with minimal delays. As for the hotel, it was ok, but the fact that it is marketing it's self as able to host large events, the service during the main course was very poor with at least 30 minutes between the fish and meat main courses being served and no obvious apology for the delay. i wouldn't recommend it for any event large or small.

At least we tried somewhere different, but my vote is for Heerlen next year.
