Decided I'd like to do this in 2014. Look forward to updates as they become available!

I'm glad it's back in June, it was a little early last year; I missed it due to an oil leak, and it was my most anticipated event of the year. I was devastated.

Is there only 1 meeting a year as a guy I was talking to siad it was in April (or is this what your refering to as it being later)?...
I take it this one is the general TVR meeting?.. do other car types come along too (as again he was suggesting so?...)

Cheers

This is the TVR Car Club Holland Continental Meeting, held every year at Zolder (date varies according to circuit availability).
It is based around the Van der Valk Hotel at Heerlen (NL) and Zolder Circuit (B). The 2014 event will be the 33rd Continental Meeting.

Here's the programme from a last year:

I think so. There was a Ariel Atom, Lola T70 Spyder and an AMC Mercedes Estate on track last year.

I am thinking of coming along this year. Slight concerns about noise as I got warnings last time I went but happy to play the game and lift off when required.

I have posted on the TVRCC and not really had much of a response with regards how many are going over this year.

Roy,
I replied earlier to this thread. Am thinking of having a go this year.

Should I contact the Dutch RO direct to find hotel details, or will something be posted on this forum?

I assumed (wrongly) that the hotel choice would be local to the circuit?...So, I assume there will be a group rate for using the Van der Valk in Heelen?

Hi Paul - There are currently four cars booked on the Wednesday Hull-Rotterdam ferry, with a number more to make their minds up, that I am aware of.

I've not had a problem with noise at Zolder (obviously not pressing the pedal down far enough).

Hopefully see you in the bar on the boat, or the bar in the car park at Heerlen.

What are the noise regs at Zolder, this could be a show stopper for me.

Booking for the track day, "awards" dinner and hotel will appear on the TVRCC NL website: http://www.tvrcarclub.nl/

The hotel is around 36 miles from the circuit.

95 dB trackside drive-by, monitored against a transponder in your car: http://www.tvrcarclub.nl/CM%202013/Info%20CM%20201...

Gruff,

The noise regs are penal! - They have transponders on the cars and 2 x sound stations out on the circuit. Get caught twice and it is your day over. No haggling. Zolder are also dead fussy about track day cans and you cant have anything extending out of the back of the car wheel barrow styley.

I have an ACT system (cats in) and including my replacement rear pea shooter cans which give around 98/99 db static. I fail the noise regs if I run at full chat. I can run round all day short shifting and not giving it the full Heinz. Even in my days of standard exhaust I was borderline. I intend having a chat with JP to see if anymore can be done on the pea shooter front this year. I remember one year some chap turned up in his Cerb with decat/sports exhausts. He lasted 2 laps total.

HOWEVER....

If you are prepared to be pussyass during the free lapping, the hillclimb/Slalom/1/4 mile sprints which are all timed and great fun, never cause any bother with the noise man. I think he goes off for his dinner!

I short shifted most of the day maxing at about 4,500, I din't have any choice with sports tails. From mid-afternoon I started pressing on - and got black flagged within 30 mins. I put my track day cans on (that do extend significantly) and was left alone for the rest of the afternoon.

It's the best TVR event I've ever been to (which is not to say it couldn't be better - a proper safety briefing would be nice). The Gala Dinner was a real treat - and I even won a 2nd place trophy for the 'hill climb'!

If you are going, you must consider to go to the Nürburgring on Saturday, which is round the corner.
It is the start of the 24 hour race.
