Hotels in Munich
Discussion
I am planning to drive the 583 miles from zeebrugge to Munich in the spring. Can anyone recommend a few good hotels in Munich which have private/secure parking?
I'm considering travelling the last week in April, are the roads ok at this time of year of is there still a risk from snow/ice?
Thanks for any advice.

Car parking normally isn't a security problem in Munich. They are all petrolheads. I have seen 220 mph Lambos,
various Porsches and any amount of BMW 750 and M-B S class
parked up in the street.
In the centre, I can recommend St Paul and Hotel Hauser.

Most folks change their tyres when the clocks change,so this means there will be a small chance of snow / ice.
Thanks Noneedtolift,
Our price range is probably upto Euro200 per night and we will be staying for 3 nights in Munich. I'm glad to hear there are still places that people can feel safe parking their car. I would be hard pressed to name a uk inner city I would be so confident in!
We will probably stop off on the way back at the Nurburgring, which will leave around 3 days to plan between Munich and the ring, I have never been to Germany before but I'm sure there are many beautiful towns/villages to choose from.
Thanks for any recommendations.

The only place I could suggest is the Insel Muehle. The advantage is that it's just a couple of km from the end of the Stuttgart-Munich autobahn.
Nice location beside a river, courtyard (maybe an underground garage also, not sure). It's right on the outskirts of the city - could be too quiet for you, but the train station to munich is only 10mins walk away.
Food is good, reputation is good, price is roundabout your limit. By April, the bier garten will hopefully be open, winter should be over.

Happy to help!
Have a look at these:
http://www.hotel-la-maison.com/en/hotel-la-maison
The street it’s in looks a bit scruffy, location is good though plus bars and restaurants, city centre nearby
http://www.hotel-opera.de/
Nice area, conviniently located near the city centre, good restaurants and bars nearby.
Let me know if that’s going in the right direction or not – there’s more
I strongly recommend that you stay near the city centre so you can move about by public transport.
Happy to suggest a few restaurants & places to visit if you’ll let me know what flavor.
Not very familiar around the ring area (I just go there for the day and a night max.) – on the way you have Augsburg (close to munich) which has a nice historic centre, Stuttgart is next.
Personally, I find Stuttgart to be butt-ugly but the new Porsche museum is defo worth a visit.
Not very keen let alone knowledgeable on “the rest” towards the ring either I’m afraid. Hockenheim is along the way obviously (they also do tourists drives in the evenings – beware of lunatics) as is the aircraft museum in Speyer. Other than that I can’t help anymore – maybe anyone more local?
Best Felix

I usually find a few laps of Schwabing does the job.A square km of pubs and clubs.
The University is there and it's gone all posh in the
last few years. Folks have been pushed out to Haidhausen,
over the river.

If Munich is south Germany's London, then StuttgartPersonally, I find Stuttgart to be butt-ugly but the new Porsche museum is defo worth a visit.
is south Germany's Birmingham. Not much to see, in my view.
