Hoping to attend this show as I miss the British motor show I used to attend as a boy and the shiny cars which you can sit in and look at in your leisure. Might not be the best show but I can't wait until next year for the other ones to come around.

Any tips? Would prefer it if it were not too busy a day. It runs 17th September - 27th, but I have to be in the UK on the 25th and the first couple of days are some sort of press day I think, which costs €45 for entry and the shops are closed, well so I read.

Went two years ago on the last Sunday & at opening time (9AM). Had about 1 & 1/2 hours of relative peace & quiet. However by 11AM you could not see the cars for the people so I gave up.

Can't remember if it was last year or the year before but I went on the last saturday and it was packed. Ok on some of the main stream manufactures stands but the likes of ferrari, porsche etc you couldn't get near. Am looking to go again this year but will try a week day this year.

OK thanks... bit surprised it'd be so busy.

Why? It's a massive show on the automotive calendar, and many major releases are scheduled for it every time. There are few more important motor shows around.

Excellent, flights booked, hostel found near station, 2 1/2 days out there but only 1 at the show obviously. Looking to take train to Nuremberg on the other day - can anyone recommend that?

I'm driving down in the TVR to see the show with my Brother. We're heading out on Weds, stopping en-route at Adenau (he hasn't realised what is there yet). Then planning on spending 1/2 day on Thurs and whole day Friday at the show. Then a quick stroll home on Sat.

Yep, pay on the door like at most events. The train system in Germany is far better than the UK, I've never been delayed more than 5 minutes on any trip and I've lived across here for touching 9 years on and off.

You off to see anything specific in Nuremburg?
