Hi All,

Thinking of bringing my bike over from the UK. I can't get insurance which covers for more than 90 days, so I'm tempted to get it registered & insured here. Anyone have any good recommendations for insurance websites so I can try for a quote?

Jason try the following
www.vhv.de or www.kravag.de

VHV is relatively cheap, was with them for years.... until the Kravag bettered their offer!!! Also no complaints, good service etc...

For over 25 year olds the cheapest insurer usually is http://www.europa.de.

Porsche insurance in Germany is handled by HDI Hannover, and I have found them absolutely superb.

We have both our cars on HUK (www.huk.de - also have a discount/online offering on www.huk24.de).

When you start searching for a quote note that most insurance companies will quote you 100% but charge more if you have no insurance history (and down to 20% after decades of no claims) - get proof of your (lack of) claims from your current insurance and make sure you get confirmation that the german insurer will accept that towards their tarif.

Ah, good idea but unfortunately they do not do motorbike cover. Thanx anyway, it's still potentially useful for the gf's Focus.
