I have a German girlfriend who has moved to England to live with me. We always go to Germany to visit her parents and see her family and i must admit i really do like the country. it just seems so clean and organised and i often think about moving there in the future.

I work as a car spray painter so i could just (hopefully) get a job in a car bodyshop over there. Although i have no knowledge of the motor repair industry in Germany and my German isnt good enough yet to find out.

Is there anyone on here that has any knowledge about this??

Her parents live about 20-30 mins from Frankfurt so would be around that area.

many thanks

Benni

Hi mikee !
Greets from Frankfurt........biggrin
I do not know the US car Scene around F so well (drive an Opel..paperbag) ,
but I suggest that you post this in the http://www.mopar-forum.de/ ,
category "MOPAR Allgemeines" (general) .
You have to register first, I guess it´s simple (am no member there).
I am member of www.dragracing.de , they have an "english spoken" section ,
try it there if you like, there re several MoparHeads around.
One of the bigger MOPAR muscle shops is the www.moparshop.de ,
try contacting the owner (Oliver), he knows the german scene very good,
and check out the links on his page, there is one info-site www.mopar.de ,
where there is also an e-mail addy and a phone number.
HTH,
Benni

Body shops are usually called 'Werkstatt' over here. But not all body shops do their own spray painting, there a specialised companies for spray painting, usally called 'Lackierer' or 'Lackierwerkstatt'. The motoring industry utilizes spray painters for prototyping, so that may be a chance, too.

There are two different degrees for mechanics and spray painters, called Geselle (regular) and Meister(more experienced and with additional schooling).

Your major issue will be not being able to speak german. You won't find that many body shops with people speaking english fluently.

Hope that helps.
