But not the tiel 1. Is this a problem?
What's on the tiel 1 and is it suspicious not to have it?
Thanks

You have the Teil 2, that is the main vehicle identitypaperwork giving all the details and specs of the car.
To get the Teil 1, you have to register the vehicle yourself, showing the TüV, the insurance covering note (now only a number) and give the registration authority a Direct Debit to make the Car Tax payments, then they issue the Teil 1 which is a smaller version (folds down to about A6 size) showing the car details and the registered owner.
You cannot drive the car without having one, and you must always have it with you when driving, you must always have your licence with you as well (you'll have to get export plates if you're taking it back to the UK or use a german trade plate)

Hi
I've already bought th car and drove it back to the uk. I went to register it here but was rejected due to not having the tiel 1.
Not sure what to do now

I assume you have a proper bill of sale proving ownership? If yes then no problem, they must accept it. You also have the German plates, uncancelled? i.e all stamps undamaged (TüV and registered state/town badge)
You of course didn't drive it back to the UK unregistered (thus uninsured etc) you brought it back on a trailer? didn't you?

I bought it back on temp export plates (5days) then insured it on the vin in the uk. Spoke to dvla who claims it's not a problem if I can provide a bill of sale and proof of build date by Ferrari (hope that doesn't mean the £1k CoC

Stef, if you have the car on export "Zoll"-plates (RED stripe along the side, one seal only) you'll also have a "Fahrzeugbrief"/Teil I!! Most likeley it will be stapled to the yellow insurance form for Export plates. UNLESS the old owner took the Export plates on his name in which case he'll still have the Fahrzeugbrief (Teil I)
