Driving 'the soft top' from the Amsterdam ferry, to the east of Prague in early August and I'd welcome advice on the best route. One overnight stop in the eastern trip and 2 nights on the return.....Open to ideas. Thanks.
Most of north Germany and all of the Netherlands are flatter than a Nun's chest. Not much to see hills-wise until you get to the minor hills of the Suedetenland.
Routes seem to be
1.
Amsterdam - Osnabruck - Magdeburg - Leipzig - Dresden - Prag.
2.
Amsterdam - Arnhem - Dortmund - Goettingen - Leipzig - Dresden - Prag.
There is a possible Southern route
3.
Amsterdam - Koeln - Frankfurt - Wurzburg - Nurnberg - Pilsen - Prag.
Opinions vary, but I am a big fan of Bavaria, so I'd probably take the
Southern route and have a few steins on the way.
Other folks might want to pop in and see VW-Stadt aka Wolfsburg.
Not too far out of your way.
Try this museum, small, idiosyncratic, close to the Czech border & near the top of some ace roads.
