Hi I am new to Frankfurt and wonder if there are any regular 'Cars and Coffee' style events or casual car meets going on in the city? Main interest is vintage Ferrari but keen on everything. Cheers

Sorry, I can't help with meetings in Frankfurt but if you are interested in older cars and are new to the area you should consider the Techno Classica show in Essen. This is coming up at the end of March and would be doable as a long day trip for you. I think its the biggest classic car show in Europe and well worth a visit.

Hello Kenji and "Willkommen in Frankfurt", I guess you win the "Long Distance" Award.

If you are into classic cars check out http://www.klassikstadt.de/ , sadly not in english,

an old factory building which houses various workshops for restoration, open car storage, used car dealers,

a Restaurant and various Events throughout the year.

They are in the east of Frankfurt Close to "Hanauer Landstrasse" where many automobile companies reside.

There also is a little-known private collection of oldtime cars, bikes,

stationary engines and (lots of)other stuff near the "Messe Frankfurt" (trade fair ground).

It´s not the best part of town (because) I live there and could meet for a coffee and a walkaround.

Hello kste,
Welcome. I don't know of any regular cars and coffee meetings in the area, but as Benni says, there are a few museums around here to visit, and we did meet up once for a drink and a chat, albeit about 2 years ago. I'm sure we could meet up again.
There is a Lotus owners club around here, somewhere. I think TVRs turn up as well. I'll ask my friend if they still meet up.

As for other events, The Jim Clark revival is on at Hockenheim every year ( http://www.hockenheim-historic.de/en/news/bosch-ho... ). That's a really good event, and you can get up close to the cars in the pits. Usually a few Ferraris there.

In Rüsselsheim they have a classic car open day in the park (sometime in late summer). There are usually a couple of hundred cars there. It's actually very good, and free to get in.

Regards
Daniel

Hockenheim Historic you say ?

I will be there, because some Dragsters are on display in the pits and for a short demo on track,

not the prepped and timed quartermile but the start/finish straight where Drag Racing in H started in 1986.

I will be in the pits providing info and commenting the dragsters in action.

Yeah, the meet in Sachsenhausen was good, so sad I had to leave early due to working offsite.
