Selling LHD lights
Discussion
I'm just about to move back to the UK after two years living in Germany. Whilst here I have had my cars fitted with LHD head lights, as part of the rules where I work, but won't be needing them on my return to the UK. Having spent a small fortune on the lights (Porsche 997 litronics and xenons for a 11 plate Ford Grand C Max) I'm quite keen to see if I can recoup any of the money I've forked out.
Can anyone recommend anywhere, other than Ebay.de, to try and flog them on?

Look at german Porsche forums like PFF.de (how's your German?), join up & put them in the classifieds on there - they'll be snapped up if the price is right.
I know you don't want to do Ebay, but if you relent, put them on Ebay.de which you can log into with your Ebay.co.uk account details. Put the text in both german & english on there, a couple of photos - then job done! Ideally leave them with a friend in germany to post if they sell after you leave (cheaper than posting from the UK).
Or put them on UK Ebay stating you'll post them to mainland Europe - then send them with insurance.
If your job has been in the forces, they used to have a paper (probably a website now) with such things advertised in them - forces people are in the same boat of having to change headlights to get their cars though BFG.
Job done :-)

I am indeed in the Forces - the headlight thing is a bit of a giveaway... The drama with the Sixth Sense newspaper is that I don't think there are too many 997s knocking around BFG. I've seen a few 996s and the odd Panamera, but no other 997s so far.
Thanks for the steer. My German is rubbish, but I have a couple of fluent speakers at work, so I'll check out the forum you mentioned.
Take care

No worries - I remember trying to get a set of LHD headlights for a friend's Peugeot 106 back in the day just to get her through BFG. Her old Datsun Cherry failed in just about everything, so ended up on the missile range at Sennelager as target practice! The good old days...
If you don't manage to sell them in time, my brother in Holland may be able to help - he's a Porsche driver, so are his mates, and they're all active on the forums.
