Hockenheim - anyone been?
Discussion
I find myself spending a couple of days in Heidelberg next week, which is the next town along from Hockenheim. i was going to go along just to have a nosey around and try and find the Jim Clark memorial on the old circuit. but browsing the circuit's website i found out about what they call Tourist Rides, which appears to be arrive and drive laps ala nurburgring.

Has anyone been before? i quite fancy a couple of laps, but the website is a bit short on detail, for example they say it runs from 7-8pm, but this time of year it will be a bit dark then i would think? do they run all year round?
I will drop an email, to them to ask about hours next week, but i would like to hear about any Pistonheaders that have done this before.
Also if anyone has been to Hockenheim before, is there anything else worth seeing?

Hi, yes been to the touristenfahrten. Basically you pay for (I think) 10 Min stints as you get in. No, briefing, no rules basically (other than in writing). You can be lucky, but when I visited, track ettiquette wasn't necessarily at its best... Give it a go though, personally I quite like the track. At this time in the year it might also be not overly busy.
There is a proper Trackday THIS Saturday though in case you are already there this weekend.
