Does anyone know how well this area is catered for with regards Restoration/Repair work for classic and Vintage cars? The reason I asked is because a friend and I were thinking of moving o the region, he is skilled and I have the capital / business skills to start something.

My famly would like a more leisurely pace of life and if there is a critical enough population of Classic car owners then this is something we would consider doing (I would also upskill from basics to support the bsiness). It is pretty hard to guage the demand though.

any thoughts much appreciated.

There is at one small restoration business here in Bergerac, and I know of a larger garage up in Perigueux that restores stuff (BG Sport).

There are plenty of classics down here, many still used as daily drivers, so I'm sure there would be some demand. In fact I've got a 69 Fiat 500 in need of some bodywork doing.

I am a bit above Dordogne,up in the Charente. Plenty of classic's up this way also. I know of a couple well established garages repairing and selling classic cars.
In my opinion the majority of classic car owners are very hand's on. I would like to think there is a gap for you to start up .Maybe you would have to have car sales also. But things are tight here at the moment and if you HAD to make a living out of this proposed garage in my opinion it would be a risk. Very best of luck with it.
