Go south into Burgundy, meander through the vineyards, sample (& buy) some wine and then go to the Chateau de Savigny les Beaune for the planes & the world's best Abarth collection

Chateau de Savigny is certainly worth a visit. The Abarth collection is amazing.
For an outstanding restaurant experience, I would venture about 40 miles outside Dijon, towards the Morvan. 'Bernard Loiseau' has 3 Michelin stars and still sort of affordable. The food is outstanding!

LOads of great restaurants in Dijon. It's one of my favourite towns actually.

Chez Leon on Rue des Godrans (just off the main market square) is one of my favourites.

Stayed in Beaune (20km south of Dijon) last summer on our way back from Le Mans. We ate at Le Jardin des Ramparts http://www.le-jardin-des-remparts.com/fr/index.php which was on the poncy side of magnificent. Outdoor seating if the weather is good enough and a choice of around 60 cheeses for the cheese course. We also ate at Le Beneton http://www.lebenaton.com/uk/navigation.htm which has fewer covers, the food was slightly better (the home made chocolates were sensational) and the atmosphere was much more relaxed. Both were over €200 for 2 and both were absolutely worth it. When we go back though we'll go to Le Beneton twice.

Additional: (sorry if this is obvious to you) you would be well advised to book as far ahead as possible for any great restaurant in France. They will most likely be fully booked for every serving months in advance. They also might be closed when you would expect them to be open.

Additional 2: don't know any great drives in the area but 2 hours over is the best car museum in the world http://www.collection-schlumpf.com/fr/schlumpf/
