Hello!

Myself and the family, i.e. me, the wife, and 3 children, all under 4 yrs old, plus our parents are heading to France in early May for a holiday.

Can anyone recommend some places to visit/things to do in the Nord-pas-de-Calais region.

We're staying quite close to the Montreuil area.

Any places for the family appreciated, as well as any car-related places - would be keen to visit one of the car factories or museum/visitor centres there.

Really don't want more than an hour or twos drive tops though as the Mrs isn't big into country roads (boooooo!) and the kids will soon get bored and cranky.

Any help appreciated.

Cheers!

La coupole http://www.lacoupole-france.com/en/musee/coupole.a... where Germans used to store V1s and V2s, now transformed in a museum.

Depending on kids age, Bagatelle, where I used to go very often as my grandparents didn't live far. This park has been there for ages, I've got good memories from it. http://www.parcbagatelle.com/en

Nausicaa in Boulogne is brilliant. http://www.nausicaa.co.uk/

And if you want fresh air, take some binoculars and go to the Marquenterre for bird watching and other animals in this massive natural reserve. http://www.domainedumarquenterre.com/index.php/fr (no English site for this one).

That's all I can think about right now.

Visit La Coupole if you like a bit of WWII history: The Germans' underground V2 rocket site. It's more than a war site, and covers the history of rockets up to the US Apollo programme.
