I am at the begining of my Fiat coupe 20vt Track car project. I will be doing mainly track days here in France.
Having just been on a track day,i had to show all my vehicle documentation,ie insurance, log book, mot and my driving licence. Then i signed the usual disclaimer.
Will i need all the same documents for my track car? Will it need an mot (ct) ? The car will never go on the road.
Any infomation and advice please.

No, I trailer an old UK race car to track events, it was never registered and so has no CT.

You do need to have a 3rd party insurance contract which seems to be obligatory in France. You get it from Gras Savoye in Lyon. Some circuits can provide it for you Charade for example where it costs €15.

I show my UK license, but also have proof of ownership of the car, but it has never been requested.

LoT do some great events, mainly in the north of France and are a good crowd to spend a day with.

Thanks John. I did a track day at the Charade last summer, with the French Fiat coupe club.I have to say it was fantastic. We paid a track damage insurance for that.
We also go to Spaitalia everyear.A weekend for all Italien car clubs. That is a joint effort by the French and UK club. This year we have 60 coupes attending. We will all get to go on track as one club for a half hour on the Saturday and also the Sunday.
I intend to trailor my coupe to the track days also. This is my local track http://www.circuit-valdevienne.fr/ Its just 15klm from me.

I live near Saumur and VdV is my favourite track. You can have an FFSA day license there which includes the day insurance. It really is good value for money.
