Hi all,
I've been trying to get hold of some snow socks but all the UK stockists I've found don't sell them large enough for the rears (295/30/19).
I thought I may have more luck trying German/French markets and wondered if anyone on here could help?
The alternative is a set of winter tyres and again I wonder if I may benefit from more choice and better price if I took a ferry ride over your way.
Any help/advice appreciated.
Thanks

just done a quick check on 123pneus.com,tyres your size,Dunlop winter sport 3D 420 euro each. That's going to hurt. Most French run around in a Kangoo or similar French ste on tiny tyres. The internet is your best bet but I don't hold much hope for findind socks that large and I'm guessing chains are a non starter because of clearance between the shock and the wheel
Thanks for looking Rick. I agree, it looks doubtful I'll get some - I saw the French/German forums as a last chance saloon before considering my options.
If I wasn't such a tight Yorkshireman I'd just get some winter tyres but I figure that, although they are far superior in terms of grip in colder temps, the reality is that for normal driving my summer tyres will be just fine for 95% of the winter. I do want to use the 911 all year round though so this might be the sensible solution.
By the way I can get chains to fit but from what I've heard they tend to mark the alloys...

Last year I had the ordinary clack and go but didn't need them as we had winter tyres on our Subaru Legacy and even when my wife drove it into a ditch we just drove it out.If the budget will stretch I would get tyres, the difference between winter and summer tyres is like night and day.
