Just put down the deposit on a French car and hopefully pick it up at the weekend!

Does anyone have any recommendations on where I can get insurance from in France?? Ideally online, english speaking (or at least will follow my very bad pigeon french).

You can find all the big insurers on the high street in France but they will want proof of NCD.

French NCD is based on the number of years you can prove to be claim free. 65% bonus from UK does not automatically translate to 65% in France. 65% comes from 5% per year, meaning 13 years proven claim-free driving. If you're getting on-line quotes, NCD is referred to as Bonus and 65% NCD equates to 35% Bonus (you subtract from 100% in other words).

(273€ for a Mercedes is unbelievably cheap.)
