Yet another moving to France thread
Discussion
I think we'd like to move to France. Well, I'm certain we would but there are what I'd guess are the usual issues - language and an income.
I'm a Java developer with a reasonable CV in the UK, but while my French is more than good enough for holidays I'm not sure it would be in a business environment, at least the way it is a the moment. Would I have any chance of being able to get work before I'm fully fluent? Any recommendations on channels to search for work in that might be particularly relevant for someone in my situation?
Ideally we'd be looking to get to the south east, but would consider perhaps going to Paris first, for example, if that was likely to make the transition easier.
Thanks.

Hi,
You'll find that the IT industry in France is relatively anglophone friendly, and is one of the few business where speaking English is encouraged in the workplace.
Whereabouts in France are you headed? I have various contacts around the country who may be able to help you out.
Best Wishes,
PM

Well I can't really offer much help other than offer you some summer work cleaning my 2 toilet blocks on the camp site but I suspect you're rather over qualified.Bon courage!
Thanks all, sounds very encouraging. We're probably still at least a year out from any potential move, but I'll try and remember to give you a try then Ultima, thanks.
