Fairly soon I'll need some regular tyres for our daily driver, and as we are moving to France 'permanently' in a couple of weeks I'm wondering who the front runners are in cheap and cheerful fitting of tyres/exhausts etc. en France?

Any suggestions gratefully accepted... (national suppliers, or Lower Normandy/Loire please) scratchchin

Only buy tyres in France if you're prepared to be well ripped off.I get mine on the web(123pneus.com) shipped from Germany and then take them to my local garage.

I would be inclined to buy them before you leave the UK, if they will be needed soon after arrival in France.

I buy my track tyres in the UK but still pay €20 per wheel, plus TVA to have them fitted, but it is still cheaper than buying from Roady, or other similar outlets.

The same applied to batteries; I was quoted €165 for a Varta, but bought a new one when I was back here for about half the cost.

For good value try Norauto, Speedy, Feu Vert.

For peace of mind use Euromaster - their tyres come with a Europe-wide guarantee.

another vote for 123pneus.fr or you could try pneus-online.fr

123 were half the price of my local tyre places.

Yeh as stated above dont buy in France its well over priced better off getting your tyres from UK same goes for any parts including exhausts, been living in France now for almost a year and have noticed the extreme cost of pretty much everything to do with cars lol its idiotic, plus the French dont seem to trust the web as much as us Brits there for again you will be ripped off especially by the postage cost's.
My advise would be to either stock up or just get tyres sent from UK and find a nice little garage somewhere in France that will fit them for you at a cheap price, try and haggle a bit. Sometimes you may get lucky. If they keep the fitting off the books its more money for them as the current payalbe tax for stuff is through the roof, hence the stupid prices on everything here. Not to put you off or anything lol smile.

Hope this helps

Nearley forgot, don't buy st Chinese tyres or weird fitment for your rims as they may not pass the control technique. The French are funny fkers about this type of thing
