Can you recommend a car/car hire company for France trip?

I'm thinking of heading on a two-week tour through France to Italy and was wondering if you have any ideas for suitable cars and car hire companies. Rather than collect a car in London, I thought it might be better to pick up a LHD drive car in Paris.

My budget is about £5k , so I was thinking of a car along the lines of a: AM V8 Volante, Maserati GT, Nissan GTR...

Any ideas on suitable car hire companies?
