Possible, it is possible.

It is quite easy if the model has been once sold in France, I believe the Chimera was at some point.

If you read French, have a look at this page:

The Chim is one of the few that is not too difficult. Particularly the '94-'97 models.
It was probably the only model where TVR did complete a full EU type approval.

The 400, 450 and 500 are all recorded as homologated by the CNIT :

As TVR no longer exists you cannot get an EU Certificate of Conformity for the car but will have to make a 'demande d'identification' to the DRIRE to establish that your car is an approved model on their list. You will probably have to present it for inspection to check it is the same as the version they have listed, this is the 'Reception à titre isolé' or RTI.

I am leaving mine registered as a UK plate, if the car is not in France or europe for more than 120 days at one go my insurance is OK

I just explained my situation and they adjusted the premium to cover the TVR going from the UK to France

Hi, contact stuart.collinsinsurance.demon.co.uk

A lot easier than the mound of paperwork, endless trips including one to Paris, all to no avail. (My TVR is 19 years old)

I've taken the brit insurance, and it's great. Problem solved, and not expensive.

Good luck!
