Very jealous!!

we've just bought a place in south west normandy, not as warm as where you are perhaps, but still a much nicer place to be than the UK.

Would lovwe to be living there within the next 3 years, fingers crossed!

Thanks, starting French lessons asap, wife is fluent & finds me very funny madsmile

Good luck with your quest, it certainly seems worth the graft at the mo, maybe a different story in a years time mind, but here's hoping!

think its about 5 degrees cooler SW Normandy so would still be lovely today, sat in shade now & still comfotable.

Its so incredible having planned & worked toward something for so long, for it to actually happen, it's such a great feeling as I'm sure many of you remember, there are only a few of these unforgetable days that happen in our lives but this is truly one of them, so thankfull to be alive & healthy enough to enjoy it today.

hallelujah, praise the lord! hehe

(sorry, just incredibly releived & overjoyed)

Welcome - good move. We've been here -permanent move - in the SW (between Pau/Biaritz) for 3 years now, gets better every day - make sure you integrate with the locals though and don't do the ex-pat thing and you'll have a great time.

Oooh - whereabouts, we are in the Loir valley, just north of Tours (actually equidistant to Le Mans at the PH favourite La Chartre sur le Loir)

Just east of Orléans.....If you're interested, there's a car club meet in Orléans first Sunday of each month.

damn it! bubble burst, had to happen I guess....

having electrified our gates over a couple of days which left us exposed occasionaly, someone had obviously noticed we were quite relaxed with our security & decided to walk into our kitchen whilst we were in the lounge eating and nab what they could, got my wifes hadbag and my walllet mad keys to most of the vehicles were in the handbag as was one of our passports, driving lis. etc etc

now familiarising ourselves with the local police force, lawyers (for signing of passport pics) etc using my pigeon french

luckily house keys were not taken but changing ignition barrels on cars without any ID or credit cards is quite difficult, especially when one is from america, oh how we'll look back and laugh rolleyes

bloody forced the gates open & pulled one of the newly fitted rams off the wall mad bigger bolts me thinks.....

true, hope you get it all sorted soon and with relative ease and that it won't burst the bubble for too long.

Thanks, we are already laughing about it, a quick ride along Nice Prom in glorious sun soon puts things to rights wink our view encompasses the snow capped mountains to the south of you towering above the sea, you could almost give us a wave biggrin

hows the snow coming along where you are?

should that give me an idea when we should venture up for some boarding? only 1 hour away apparently...

guess your gearing up for the season now eh, might venture up your way for Christmas, do you know the name of that hotel in town (Chamonix) that has the in/outdoor pool, think its 4/5 star, cant remember its name though....
