Changes to the Griff if we were to move to France ?

As title really. May relocate to France, what changes would I have to make to the car ?
Also, what costs involved in running a car in France ? road tax or equivalent, insurance costs (50 yrs old, full no claims, long history of insuring performance cars, clean licence etc) etc
As you can see I haven't got a clue about Frence motoring costs !
Any info appreciated.

Well, it should judt be a case of Certificate of conformity, Control Technique - CT (should just be a swap to LHD lights), off to the tax office for more red tape, down to the sous-prefecture to register (hand over all the paperwork you have just accumulated) and hand over a fee, collect Carte Grise, down to halfords equiv. for plates, must be fastened by rivets, and you are good to go.
CT, every 2 years @ €50
No road tax
Insurance depends but mine was the same figure just in € not £
Petrol, well sp95 was €1.36 today.
I've imported a couple of cars now and never had a problem.

Is the CT like our MOT ?
Could be interesting geting a rear number plate in France as the rear plate on the Griff is back lit (number plate light shines through the plate so it has to be transparent)

Yep the CT is the same thing as the MOT, don't worry about the horror stories of it being super strict and hard to get through, its not.
And I never knew that about Griff rear plates, officially you have 6 months to get a car registered if you import it, but in reality (down here in the South West at least) the authorities are far more relaxed about things.

AFAIK the Griff 400 and 500 did have national approval here.
The Griff 500 has the model code (type mines) DGC5P
I know someone from Toulouse managed to import a 500 and register it here but I dont remember him saying he had to modify anything. But for sure a backlit numberplate does not exist and you may need to find another solution.
You would need to make a 'demande d'identification' to the DRIRE who should be able to issue the appropriate papers. You may also be required to present the car for inspection at the local DRIRE office.
The 'puissance fiscal' for the 500 is 26cv and you will pay a registration tax based on this figure (around 800 Euro).
But the plus side is that 'roadtax' has been scrapped since many years
