Drove the Boxster down to St Raphael for the first week and then Le GArde Freinet for the 2nd week. We spent the 2 weeks travelling about down there, absolutely brilliant. Monaco was fantastic but for me the Milau bridge coming back was just awesome, as were the roads heading west towards it and then north from there. Definetly going to head back there at some point in the future.Im only 21 so i was over the moon to be able to do it something to tell me mates in the pub haha.Anyway a few pics:

The bridge is better seen from the car parks though.

We have just had another 2 trips to the south.

Toulouse was visited as were many old villages around there. Super.

I’m headed that way, for the first time, in May. The only plan at the moment is that their isn’t one. I fancy hopping over the boarder for a look round San Remo. I also fancy doing part of the Route Napoleon.

Anyone got any recommendations as regard accommodation? We are open to both hotels and Villa/apartments.

I spent a week in the Cevennes (just north and east of Millau) on a walking holiday(!?!?!?!?!?) last autumn. The area has some wonderful roads (check out D548 from Valleraugue to l'Esperou!) and very little traffic. Even in October, the evernings were warm enough to sit without a jumper outside a cafe, if you could find one open after 8pm...

Will post some photos if any interest.

I agree with the comments on the bridge - drove over it in a brief, but torrential, thunderstorm - stunning!

You could try the Pierres et Vacances chain - I have an aunt and uncle who spend Feb/Mar in Cannes every year, and stay in one of their places - see www.pv-holidays.com
