Calais to Paris
Discussion
We're off to France on Saturday! Woohooo! 8.00am P&O ferry. What do you reckon is the best route down to Paris? Via Rouen? (We're staying here http://www.paris-hotel-tulipe.com/English/Frameset... on the South West side of Paris). Also, is my low T350 likely to be a problem getting onto and off the ferry?
It's August, so Paris is relatively quiet and traffic is moving (well it was last week).
You have 2 choices, either A26/A1 or the A16. Personally I loathe the A1, it's the equivalent of the M1 and gets very busy. The A16 is a much quieter autoroute.
Once you reach Paris, take the Peripherique around the outside all the way to the South Bank of the Seine and follow that up to your destination - don't bother driving through the middle unless you have time and want to see some sights.

Just got back! Excellent time! I spoke with the chap whilst we were queuing for the ferry, and it urned out he used to work as a salesman at the TVR Centre in Barnet, so was sympathetic to my needs! Excellent run down to Paris for a few days, then a good blast down to my parents' house in Brittany... and will need to reset the satnav Max Speed record as a result! Hope your hols went well too!
