Am attemting to contact any other ex-pats / english-speaking TVR owners who live in France.

I've been here (in Charente Maritime) since 2003. We have a Chimaera and I'd be pleased to hear from any other owners in the country.

Thanks,

Malc

Hello,

Yes, another fellow ex pat but sadly not a TVR owner. We live in the centre, department 18 so a food few hours drive away.
How are you finding living in France. Have you managed to get used the some what dated systems over here. I believe if you can cope with that then France is a great place to live.

Well, that makes 3 of us.

5years etc... Where the hell is Silcoates? - obviously I'm not your man!
I replied to Chateaucharley that I'd quite like to build a database of ex-pats etc and perhaps attempt to organise an outing/week-end or something. Perhaps as this topic gets going we might find sufficient numbers who are interested.

Well if its not just TVR owners you are after, I'll stick my hand up. Dept 24 here just outside of Bergerac. An organised trip type thing to one of the meetings down this way would go down well, Angouleme or Pau anyone?

A meet is a great idea. I'm biased of course but I think our place would be a great venue for a meet.
I simply cant afford a nice car at the moment so the next best thing would be to fill the place with other peoples cars.

Does half living there count? From June will be in 72 most weekends.

There's surely only one department for a petrolhead to live in?

Good to have a few on board. I'll monitor this topic and try to keep it all together with a view to a meet later on?

Malcolm,Apologies, you have the same name and job as an old neighbour of ours, i thought it was too much of a co-incidence.

Been looking for somewhere for a year or two, just not deceided where to drop anchor. We have fiends in Brulon near Le Mans, and I also love Millau and the Tarn Gorge. Planning on another reccy in a few weeks and again in August. It's just so difficult to make a choice where to settle. Do we go for a house on the beach or a rural farmhouse banghead
whatever we do I have to have a nice chauffage for the Cerbie.

Last year I was dropping Mrs C off at Nantes airport and a chap came running over who stated he lived somewhere around La Sarthe and had a Chim. He did email me but I had a H/D crash and lost his details...sorry but if you see this and remember the Cerb please drop me a line.

Hi Malcolm
Great to see you both and of course your Chimaera the other week when you popped in for a cuppa. The unmistakable sounds of a TVR coming up the hill have only just been eclipsed by the sounds of my Cobra, which I drove from the UK to our home in Marsac sur L'isle near Perigueux Dept 24, last week.
I am planning to enter the car in the concours d'elegance in Bergerac first week of June, if I can get the time off. If not my wife is threatening to take the car without me.
Anybody else visiting and or entering?

I should be going this year, its only about 20 mins down the road from me. I'll keep an eye out for you.
Anyone going to Pau on the weekend of 26th-27th May for the historic GP? I should be there as well as it looks like I've organised some tickets via one of the teams racing. Hopefully access all areas.

Back to France next Thursday, for a weeks fishing...doubt I'll get any further south than Tours as we're staying about 20 mins south west of Le Mans. looking forward to another blast down part of the Mulsane and a few runs out to La Fleche and Sable.

I'll also be on the lookout for Chateau Cooky, somewhere with a nice Carp lake cloud9

Hi all, new member here. TVR V8 M series owner, I am currently in the Dordogne but moving to Spain in a month. Only been here 5 months and haven't had a chance to get the TVR over here from the UK where it is kept. Hoping to get to the Concours in Bergerac and also the Historic GP in Pau this weekend, alas without the TVR!

Take a few days out and take a trip to Burgundy (leave with boot empty !)and see my mate and carp legend Keith Moores at Morland Fisheries @ la chapelle de brangny and you can have a few days great fishing and get some top advice on buying in France as a Brit with an obsession with expensive inedible fish !! Say hi from Rob and Belle . GOOD LUCK ! BONNE CHANCE !
