An interesting week or two to come....

I think it most unlikely that Macron will not win, I suspect that they will each gain about 13% extra.
In any even, if Le Penn were to win, she could never pass any legislation.
On 25th April, everyone will carry on as normal, Macron playing Jupiter, burying his head in the sand, ignoring the fact that France is moving inexorably towards the right and that RN is no longer the far-right candidate.
In the UK Farage forced the hand of the two main parties to do something different, that does not seem to be happening here with a much more diverse electorate.

More than 72% of the electorate did not vote for Macron. As the least worst option, he will probably get in.
However it will be hard to manage that level of opposition from all sides.
The utter failure of the Socialists and moderate right leaves a huge void between loony left, loony right and the man in the muddle.

Auvergne was fairly typical with more than 73% voting agains Macron and 22% voting for Le Pen and a void where traditional socialist and moderate right should have been.

It does tend to show a divided nation, pretty much along the lines of the UK pre Brexit.
