Assuming that you are double vaccinated in the UK, then you only need a PCR for your Day 2 test once back in the UK, but an LFT will suffice for the '48 hours before travelling test', and you can get these done at your local pharmacie, though at ours it was necessary to book the test the day before.

You can of course take your LFTs with you from the UK using one of the suppliers on the Government web site list.

For your return France you currently need a negative PCR OR antigenic test taken "in clinic" in the the 48 hours before travelling. We came back yesterday and we'd advise booking your tests well in advance as slots local to us were all taken.
I didn't book our tests with them because I was too slow off the mark, but Lloyds chemists seemed to be a good choice for LFTs. Lots of locations, reasonable cost, 15 minutes for result.

From 00:00 CET 4 December (23:00 GMT 3 December), fully vaccinated travellers (aged 12 years or over) travelling from outside of the European Union to France must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test result from either a PCR or antigen test.
Absolutely sick of these fkers and their politics. Same goes for the British side for that matter ETA2 Thanks for the info BTW
