Hi i,m travelling through France at the end of this month and was wondering what the news was on restaurants reopening as the hotel i have booked sent me an email saying the restaurant was still closed. tia.

Read the last couple of pages in the Lockdown in France post
Think it’s 9th June but may be earlier if they have outdoor seating

... and its not peeeing down.

We had a takeaway yesterday from a favourite restaurant. They said they were getting €10k / month support from Govt. and making enough money from takeaways to get by.

Opening for 30 covers at lunch on days when it does not rain seemed not to be enough for them to risk not receiving the €10k to cover their monthly costs.

It looks like bars and restaurants can be compensated and make a windfall by opening for customers on sunny days.
