Testament Olographe

I need one and will write it myself, as is its design.
It is to dispose of one piece of property to my spouse or children, and it will sit alongside my UK Will, which is being professionally written.

Anyone done one and any tips?

I simply don't need a Notaire, I am fully aware of la réserve and the quotité disponible.

Did you ever get this done Doc?

I only ask as I'd been thinking about doing one, although we've moved and got a tontine clause in the house purchase, so Mrs Pitre is sorted if I decide to turn my toes up first. All my stuff goes to her anyway by French law and similarly our kids inherit on second death so I haven't bothered as it would simply be stating what would happen anyway...

Curious if you've done it and got wording template maybe...

Yes.

Lodged in parallel with my UK will, which takes it into account.

Apparently Brexit might ruin cross border will dominion, so assets are best specifically covering according to jurisdictions.
But a handwritten bit of paper satisfies the French legislature.

PM me, I'll happily share my redacted text, but use it at own risk, obvs

My wife and I have made wills here in France using UK law. They are lodged with the Notaire.
Apparently, Brexit will have no effect the ability to do this as it is a separate piece of legislation.
