This is a really really long shot /needle in a haystack scenario but im looking for help tracing a couple possibly from this area. Or with links to this region.
Does anyone know of any french or Spanish speaking forums connected with here? I don't speak French spanish myself unfortunately so any help appreciated.
I have a thread running in the lounge but was pointed to here for help. Not sure how to link the other thread.

Region is Barcellonette and the couple are holiday friends of my parents a long time ago. All the details are in the other thread in the lounge forum 'tracing missing person/s'

Can't help with the query but Barcellonette is up in the Alpes Maritimes near the border with Italy rather than with Spain. Nice little place, if rather out of the way . The only Spanish link is that many of its citizens emigrated to Mexico for some reason.

We spent some time there in 2001, in the summer, so it was empty as it's primarily a winter sports resort. Really lovely place in the summer with some good walking trails and some easy drives to the mountain passes. There is a fairly close connection to Mexico and there is/was an association locally that dealt with the connections between there and Mexico (unfortunately I lost all the relevant stuff from the visit when we moved back from France to UK). There are lots of very nice villas in the Mexican style and a local hotel I think called the Aztec Spa.

I spent a night there a couple of summers ago (driving my old Alfa Spider down to Italy the slow back roads way - great roads round there incidentally).

It's a small place of fewer than 3000 souls stuck in an isolated valley. I'd guess that everybody knows everybody else and finding the local rag or bulletin board and posting your pic/query would elicit a rapid response.
