Titre de Sejour 'Withdrawal Agreement' applications
Discussion
Update on the application process for new Titre de Sejour 'Withdrawal Agreement'.
The opening date for this was delayed as I'm sure you all know, to 1st October. I have made no progress with my application as the online application system does not work. I have spoken to the British Embassy in Paris and they say that the process has been delayed by the French Government yet again. They were not able to say why, nor when it will be up and running but will inform everyone registered with them for online news bulletins via that medium.

We already have 10 year carte de sejours but nevertheless applied for the new cards last May.
We still haven't had a date for collecting them, although we do have the official receipts.
Driving licence wise, mine expires in August, so I might as well renew it at the UK address whilst the problem of reciprocity gets sorted.

Still waiting for call up to collect ours however, a friend collected hers yesterday and was told that people are not turning up for the appointments given in the email sent to them, apparently five on that one day alone. It seems that the emails are being sent not from 'Prefecture' or 'Gouv.etranger' or anything that you would know or recognise but from unknown individuals, in consequence many are simply being deleted unread, as spam. Check your spam box as you may find something of interest there. Second thing, there are two rumours doing the rounds at the moment, one says that new arrivals who have not had a TdS before are being dealt with first and the second says the order of call up is completely random. I emailed our Prefecture at the beginning of April to ask if there was any progress, the automated reply said I would be contacted within either two or five days depending on how much research was needed to answer the question but predictably I have heard nothing.

Another spam related issue is that if your computer isn't set up to read french accents, cedillas etc, then the email address can show up with @ and * in it which makes folks suspicious too so they spam it or like one of my friend do, block it! He forwarded it to me with a WARNING SPAM label, I replied that he should perhaps read it..... it was a request for more documtntation to progress his CdeSPoshbury said:

An odd part of our process was that we received texts telling us to visit the sous-prefecture with our passports and hand over our EU CdS. We naively thought that they would hand back the new ones, but no. Just as we were getting prepared to return and complain, the new ones arrived by recorded delivery. We still haven't had a date for collecting them, although we do have the official receipts.

We applied for a licensed exchange last October believing that sufficient time had passed for them to clear the CERT backlog and cope with Covid, but before Brexit was completed.
Despite complaints to Consular services. ANTS, EU and UK Cabinet office, no one seems to acknowledge the issue of what happens when a UK license expires.
My wife was caught by this so renewed with the DVLA using our UK address. 10-days later, she had it in her purse. As a matter of interest, they do not ask where you are resident for tax purposes.
Well we had our RDV's today at Clermont-Ferrand (63). Apparently this morning was the first group of Brits to be seen at the prefecture under the WA and they have now started to work through the list of folks waiting. We're getting 10 year cards and they should be with us in about a month and a half. In a typically French manner, one couple we know turned up for their RDV's about an hour before us and were asked for two photos each, rather than the one stipulated on the RDV email but they weren't asked for tax returns whereas we were. Just got to love French bureaucracy

Re tax returns, i stupidly thought that if i sent them ours from now and a long time ago, it would do.
Wrong, they wanted the 5 consecutive ones to now. I could have been elsewhere in between.
Fortunately they did allow me a journey and reams of paper and accepted .pdfs by email.
Due to the local impots refusing to accept that we wanted to declare in France for the first 2 years after our arrival, we could only give them 3 years worth today but they were happy with that.......Wrong, they wanted the 5 consecutive ones to now. I could have been elsewhere in between.

Went for my RDV at Niort yesterday. Very efficient, 2 women seemed to be working 15 minute appointments and have been for several months. Apart from the picture and passport no other requirements - it seems computer saying yes is enough (although I had brought a load of other stuff - just in case!)
Only downside is the card is "one maybe two months delivery".
