Hi all, merry Christmas and happy new year.

Been a very long time since I popped my head in this part of the forum.

Looking to be in the Bordeaux area with my wife around the end of July where she will have a week or two course, so I will have time to dispose of...

Looking to get my car fix I guess, do not have the financial means to enjoy it here in Japan and do not have a car in the UK any longer so looking for recommendations of anywhere that does something half interesting as rental cars. Not necessarily looking for Porsche etc, but also do not want bland euro hatch back. Maybe something like an MX5 etc, something fun, nippy, probably convertible, just something to get some fun back into cars and driving.

Many thanks

Tbh a convertible would be the last thing on my list, air con rules in July and August.Bodeaux city is fairly quiet but any road that leads to the beach is choked, morning, noon and night.

There's a few to look at. An easy Google search using the words. Location de voitures de lux Bordeaux. Gives a fair few choices.

It will be busy in July but not terrible. Venture out into the countryside as its a great location.

Try and justify getting there a little earlier and you can take an early morning drive and join me in Pamplona for the bull run !!!

Many thanks for the replies folks, its appreciated.

Re heat etc at that time of year and a convertible, I hear what you are saying and appreciate the feedback. The weather here in Japan is crazy so I am used to the hot hot summers - will see where we are at closer to the time and decide from there.

As said by others, most - if not all - of the mainstream car hire companies at Bordeaux do a premium range.

Remember that July/August in and around Bordeaux is usually swealtering but can also be quite cold and wet so don't assume you'll get 14 days of unbroken glorious weather
