Planning to drive through France in the next couple of days - Calais to Perpignan. I see there are planned rail strikes on some of days we may travel. Does anyone know how much disruption to expect on the roads? Urgent advice appreciated as I am trying to choose best days to travel. Thanks in advance

Seems to be very little at the moment, 5 minutes more traffic to get to work and a pain in Paris this week to get from airport to centre with the RER not working properly....

I'd suggest keep 'left' of Paris (Coast road to Rouen and across maybe?) but I cant imagine it will be having a huge impact on the main toll roads heading South.

Enjoy the trip!

Some would say what rail strike.
Unless you plan to go through the centre of any towns at rush hour it’s of no consequence to the rest of the country. Lots of information regarding missing trains is allowing commuters to make other arrangements.
It’s not even newsworthy on TF1 etc as it’s being managed.

Agreed, unless you were planning on driving round the Perifique in Paris, I doubt you will notice anything. People are car sharing and on a strike day for business travel, it’s either an excuse not to go, or fly.

Mind you if you get mixed up with Le Mans weekend, that could be a completely different proposition with the numbers of Brits, Belgium, Dutch and Danes queuing at the tolls before Rouen and Le Mans.
