Morning all,

I've just received my first Sanef toll tag, which I intend to use for holiday jaunts in France.

The instructions with it suggest that it needs to go in the mottled area of the windscreen. I'm going to be putting it in my 1986 BMW M5, which has no such thing.

Do I just stick it up behind the rear view mirror, or is there somewhere else it should go?

I do not use motorways in France but I put my passes for other country's so it can be picked up by the scanners

Up behind/next to the mirror will be fine. We hired a car and took our tag without the holder and just held it up to the top of the screen at the tolls and it worked fine.

Yes, mine lives up next to the mirror, works perfectly. Use the 30kph lane to leapfrog all the speeders, very amusing!

This.

Also, if you stick it to the windscreen, in my experience they're a complete bugger to remove.

I left mine in a hire car so had to order a replacement, when it arrived the design had slightly changed and it wouldn't fit onto the old holder, could I get the one attached to the windscreen off? NO CHANCE!
