I’ve used various companies over the years but I am now using Revolut and yesterday’s experience is just unbelievable.
At 08:47 I made the transfer via the app and the cash appeared in my account the same day.
It’s there this morning as I think Credit Agricole only post credits at the end of the day.
The rates are good as well..

Disclaimer no connection just a very happy customer

I use HIFX but when they send the money to my CA account in Saumur, it always spends at least one night in Le Mans. Perhaps your account is in there regional HQ?

HIFX are very simple to use if you need to set up different accounts for payments to be sent to. I think they ping the account to ensure you have the IBAN / SWIFTCODE correct.

Did a transfer this morning using Transferwise and it's in our CA account this afternoon, have used them for a few years now to make regular transfers to France and NZ.

Yes our branch, Le Lude, is part of Le Mans branch.

It’s the first time I’ve had a transfer in a day. Still impressed

I like Revolut that much I invested in the company.
I use nothing else these days for moving and exchanging currency.

We use Earthpoint (old Baydonhill) same sort of thing, all transferred pretty quick.

I have just thought , will this all change after Brexit? Free movement of money will end?

I use Azimo and this usually does the transfer within a day, if scheduled midweek.

Bump.

Mrs BC and I are going on a cruise which means spending a short amount of time in several countries which is a bit of a problem money wise. Has anybody here used say Revolut for that?

Any other suggestions?

No, not Caribbean. We’re in Greece, Israel, Jordon, Oman and UAR.

Sounds like I need a pre paid card but this is all new to me.

I would just use my credit card (Post Office Interbank rate) if you need a bit of cash for drinks offshore, use the boat’s Bureau de change.

It is too easy to overthink these issues. There will probably be 6000 other passengers in your position, and another 6000 every week thereafter.

My Revolut card arrived this morning. To check it out I loaded on £20 credit then walked to the cash point to see about a withdrawal. Having put in the pin etc., there was a message saying I may be charged for making a £10 withdrawal. I said no. Then I thought let’s try again so I did and clicked yes to the possible charge. £10 was dispensed but the app showed 2x£10 withdrawals. My app was then blocked.

I did the live chat and eventually they reactivated my card. Tried adding more £’S which failed first time then worked.

Off to the pub to show off my new contactless payment card . Didn’t work. OK with pin but not contactless. Tried to contact Revolut but it seems all gone home.

Not a great start. confused
