New CT rules from May 2018
Discussion
Took Mrs RJ's car in for its CT the other day and picked up a leaflet with the revised CT details on it.
Long story short, they've added a list of "critiques" faults which will result in you getting a CT allowing the car to get home on the day of test to get it repaired, still got the 2 month contravisite for major faults and the advisories for minor faults.
Had an interesting fault on the wife's car - the support bracket for the fuel tank had corroded and split in two, so the tank had dropped down onto the reinforcing bars across the chassis, and this is only a minor!!

I had mine done recently and my tester was mega cheesed off with the new CT because of the extra time taken and the very real prospect of having to fail many cars that are in fact perfectly roadworthy.
With the implementation of Crit air and the new CT,is Government trying to force older cars off the road?
