All being well will be moving over a week tomorrow.

Bought house in may sold house in london july and will be exchanging contracts tomorrow.

The english sale has been a saga of epic proportions.

Having fun registering my french reg car on the new online system. Whoever designed the on line form should be shot.

Get used to it , nothing is easy over there but if you stick with it , be polite and humble and you'll be accepted with open arms . I've seen quite a few come a cropper by turning up and acting the 'big I am ' but I only ever had help offered by everyone I dealt with , I still owe people favours over there !
Good luck with your new adventure , it's not easy but stick with it and you'll be fine .

One of the many good things about France is you can still meet the administration face to face on most occasions.

Simply excellent advice. I always apologise for being English and not speaking perfect French. The atmosphere turns cordial every time!

Ours' is 81 rofl She still mows our lawn out of her own good will, and for free - we can't stop her. Fitter than a fiddle.

We communicate via her son's email when we're out of the country.

Still in the UK.

Told on 29th nov that everything was ready. Just had to exchange in a a couple of days.

Then told the buyer had to wait for a panel solicitor acting for the bank to review everything.

They have done sweet fanny adams and tefuse to talk to the EA or my solicitor as instructed by the bank.

Net result is nothing will happen until the nrw year.

Off to barcelona in a sulk on boxing day for 3 days ...

An Escagot should be the national emblem of France. Bureaucracy takes time.

But in the end, it is worth it.
