Track day anyone?
Discussion
There's a track day on August 5th at Haute Saintonge.I went last year and it was a hoot. Proper sit down lunch (of course) is an extra 20euros, or you can bring sarnies. It's open pit so you can do as much or as little as you like at whatever pace you like. No Nico Rosberg wannabes to worry about and all very convivial with some nice cars in attendance. You have to provide track day insurance for the day which you can find online cheaply and helmets are obligatory. Hopefully see some of you there.

That's meant to say open pit, but for some reason it won't let me correct it.Ask for an inscription form from paulgiraud2@wanadoo.fr
Wish I could I'm feeling fairly suicidal, but as well as gite changeovers, looking after our ancient dog is curtailing any action for me at the moment although I have just renewed my RCC.
I hope to drive around slowly in front of rdj for a day at Fontenay le Compte when I'm released, and then I shall drive around Haute Saintonge slowly in front of you on another occasion.
Is that what you meant by being a hoot ?
I'm hoping to persuade my OH to shoot or poison the dog* so that I can do Bugatti again this year, the only question is whether to do it with the Jersey crowd (McLarens, Lambos, Ferraris et al) in a car that cost the same as one of their pistons, or my French pals (includes v pushy Germans in v fast BMs who appear to be practising for something...)
I'm a bit wary of meeting people from Pistonheads, the only one I've met so far turned up at our gites in a very flashy 4WD with Ph stickers amongst others and was surprised I knew what they were. He was on his own because "the person he was going to come with** decided they didn't want to". He was so sad I felt sorry for him and offered him our dog.
Presumably you guys aren't like that?
Steve

- not really, because I've asked, and she won't.
- no idea which and not a pun
Hi montague.
120 euros. 10 euros if you want to have a passenger.lunch is an extra 20 euros but sarnies if not. Well worth it because there is no limit on the amount of time you can spend on track and Haute Saintonge is a great fast flowing circuit.Showers, toilets, etc all available at no extra cost and fuel and airline in the paddock. I have to say i had a great time last year, one of the better track days i've attended.

I was really fancying returning to Haute Saintonge as I went when it first opened and I can really recommend it. The food was good as well.
Regrettably they put a 95db limit on it shortly afterwards which I have struggled to meet in the past. This week I explained to GTRS that I had put a bigger exhaust on and reduced intake roar, but I have no idea just how loud it is now.
They replied that I would not allow me on the circuit if it failed a test but invited me to trailer the car to their base in Bordeaux and they would test it for me. It's an offer, I think ,I can decline for a 6-hour round trip.
So sadly, I won't be there, but hope it's a good one.
There should be an event a Fontenay sometime in August, as well.
