I think that they're new ones - I read somewhere that they can't sell used ones to private buyers as there's a cancer risk, how correct that is I don't know. I should check out agricultural suppliers near you too. Steve

We used old oak beams from a barn that was being demolished, cut them to size to make three large beds, they've been in for over 8 years now and are just starting to show a bit of rot here and there.
