Watching UK TV in France
Discussion
I'm wondering what everyone does with regards to watching UK TV in France?
We've been using an IPTV set up with a Mag 240 box supplied by a company called Sky In France, but that has proved to be unreliable and has finally stopped working.
We have the ability to watch on our iPads using a VPN, but would prefer to have an IPTV set up to watch on a large screen TV.
I had thought about buying an Apple TV box and watching the iPlayer through AirPlay. Is that my best option?

satellite dish and freesat box
This works for me.10 years ago I had a full SKY package, I now also have a VPN to get the odd non-BBC Grand Prix. But as a general rule there is rarely something on that I really want to watch.
Take heart in the fact that it is inevitably better than anything you will find on French TV.

We're in the middle of France 200 miles south of Paris and use a 60cm dish and a freeview box and get all the UK TV channels. We have friends who live in the south near Rodez and they had to change to a 1.6m dish when the satellite footprint was changed.
I use a Humax box with a dish to receive and record Freesat, works very well.
Recently got an Openbox V8S from www.jackspud.com which gives a superb range of Sky programmes... Visit the website and you'll see what I mean. £80 and it works off a dish, perfect if you're missing sports and movies, HD too. £15 ish per annum after the first year. The interface isn't brilliant, but you can connect a hard drive and record although I haven't tried that.

This. But where you are in France is important since they changed the satellite beams. North of France is OK but down south you could be looking at a significant size dish.

I'm 40 miles south of Geneva in Morillon and get great satellite reception with 60cm dish and freesat.
You're lucky. We are between Toulouse and Castelnaudary.
I had an 80cm dish with a cheapo LNB for years.
To get the same signal now I have a 1,65m dish and a pro dual LNB with a very expensive feedhorn!
