Dear All, using the Eurotunnel this coming Friday evening to drive to the Alpes. Any news as to whether the French are still to be on strike/lorry drivers burning tyres on the rail tracks et al?

Stop the worry.

All this panic about nothing, how many more threads.

Go and enjoy the Alps

Ha, there are lorry drivers stuck in OpStack who've been there three days... Trains running through the tunnel normally for now, but if those MyFerryLink nobheads break in again, they'll be stopped. Keep your fingers crossed and have a safe trip.

Your reply is somewhat ineffectual and as much use as a striking Frenchman...

...which reminds me of the 4th Earl of Kimberley's family motto, 'Strike Hard' & 'Agincourt'

So, back to original, simple Q? Does anyone know of any disruption to be caused to the Euro-tunnel by French strikers this coming Friday evening?

Who knows? They were wildcat strikes so not really union sanctioned but they know the union will back them anyway.
It's strike season until 13th July and any body could go on strike, depends on the weather, how good/bad the wine was at lunch etc.The only folk who won't strike are the teachers as they are on holiday and it's not September/October.

Are they rioting in Paris yet?

I don't think the French strike at weekends. Why? Because they are either off or on time and a half...
