Higher octane petrol
Discussion
France is diesel country, so the fuel market is very heavily skewed towards it and Bio 95 octane petrol.
There is not a huge market for high end petrol cars, particularly in rural areas, so even the 98 octane can hang around in the tanks of the petrol station for a long time, V-power could stay even longer.
Don't forget that all fuel in Europe is refined to the same exacting specifications, BP and Shell no longer have refining capacity and so what you are actually looking for is an octane boosting additive.
If the extra performance is vital to your journey, take an additive with you.
