Went from Chalus to Aixe-sur-Vienne (87) today and saw a couple of sets of Gendarmes pulling cars over for a check. Must be short of revenue and it's getting near the end of the year, the last time I saw so many about was Toussaint
Always the same at Christmas/New Year similar to the UK, but more than likely a response to the events in Tours and Nantes too. There's army deployed as well. Steve
